What Can I Expect During Sofwave Treatments?

During this in-office treatment, you can expect to feel some warmness in the areas being treated, but it should not be painful. Your doctor will use a topical anesthetic cream to further ensure your comfort during the treatment. 

At Dr. Patel’s clinic, there are also a variety of comfort measures available during microneedling and any other treatments, including topical numbing cream, gel ice packs, nerve blocks, and vibration tools to alleviate any uncomfortable sensations.

Preparation for Sofwave

You do not need to do anything special to prepare for getting a Sofwave treatment, just show up with clean skin and be sure to eat something and be hydrated prior to getting your treatment.

Getting a Sofwave Treatment 

Sofwave treatments are essentially painless. You may feel some warmth on the areas of the skin being addressed during your treatment while the ultrasound is being delivered. Your doctor will apply a topical anesthetic cream and use other measures as needed to further ensure your comfort. 

On the day of the treatment, you should arrive about forty-five minutes before the treatment. The actual duration of the treatment will be about thirty to forty-five minutes. The treatment involves the following steps:

• Applying numbing cream thirty to forty-five minutes prior.
• Applying the Sofwave gel to enhance the mobility of the handpiece to move easily on the top layer of the skin.
• Pulses will be administered. Every two to three seconds and you will feel another pulse.
• No recovery time, you can return to your daily activities immediately.

Sofwave Recovery

Following the treatment, there should be no unpleasant sensations and there is no need to take any further special steps to care for your skin.
