Race for Charity

Dr. Anita Patel ran 26.2 miles for charity, finishing the 2013 New York City Marathon on a beautiful November day in New York. 48,000 runners began the race, and over 2 million spectators were out in full force to support and cheer on the runners. This marks Dr. Patel’s second marathon race, and first NYC marathon.

Dr. Patel was originally signed up for the race in 2012, when the race was canceled due to the devastation brought by Hurricane Sandy. Dr. Patel was proud to have raised over $3000 for Lend-A-Hand India, Run for a Dream, which offers life-changing support through education and vocational training for girls and boys in need in India.

Eager to make good on the promise to those who donated funds on behalf of the charity Dr. Patel signed up for the 2013 marathon and returned to the Big Apple for a spectacular race through the 5 boroughs of New York. Congratulations to all of the runners, and thank you to all of the enthusiastic and spirited spectators! Thank you to all of those who offered support and well-wishes! Thank you again to all those who donated to the cause!
