Dysport is a really popular alternative to Botox and has been around since 2009. Like Botox, Dysport is commonly used to both prevent and minimize the appearance of wrinkles on the forehead, glabella (“11 lines” between the brows), and crow’s feet (lines at the outer corners of the eyes). It can also be used to treat a gummy smile, create a “lip flip,” smooth out chin dimpling, and relax neck bands or neck lines.
Although overuse of the treatment may result in a stiff or frozen facial appearance, Dr. Anita prefers a “less is more” approach, opting for minimal amounts of the product deployed strategically in order to produce softer, more naturally beautiful results that her patients love.
Prior to the treatment, you will fill out consent forms the skin will be cleansed, cooled with gel ice packs, and prepped for injection.
Dr. Anita will then use carefully calibrated injections in precise locations in order to produce natural-looking results tailored to your individual needs. Dysport injections are relatively pain free and quick. Pre- and post- photos (2 weeks after injection) will be taken to show you the side-by-side comparison and highlight changes.
Please Note: These are general estimates that may or may not apply to you individually.

During your consultation, Dr. Anita will take time to learn about your areas of concern and aesthetic goals, create a custom treatment plan, and discuss the treatment in detail. She will go through your medical history and make sure you are a good candidate for treatment.
The skin is prepped and injections are tailored to your muscle patterns and visible wrinkles.
Avoid lying down for 3 hours, do not massage the treated areas, and do not exercise for 24 hours. Follow up in 2 weeks for assessment and touch up as needed.
Dysport is a neuromodulator, or toxin, that works by blocking the release of the neurotransmitter (acetylcholine) at the neuromuscular junction, which would normally signal the muscle to contract. Blocking this signal causes temporary muscle paralysis until the body is able to create new nerve terminals, typically 3-6 months.
Dysport is used to treat the appearance of wrinkles and lines caused by repeated muscle contraction.
Both Dysport and Botox are botulinum toxin A and target the same concerns. Preference for Dysport over Botox depends on the patient and their individual results. While results vary, for many patients Dysport lasts on average 3-4 weeks longer than Botox, and Dysport begins to work at 1 day post injection as compared to 2-3 days post injection with Botox.
Dysport is FDA-approved and administered by Dr. Anita herself, who has over 10 years of experience injecting Dysport.
Most patients describe the feeling as a small pinch. Injections are done with a very small needle which minimizes pain.
Dysport typically begins working 1 day post injection and can take 7-10 days for full effect.
Patient results vary, but injections typically last 3-6 months.
Dysport is FDA-approved to treat forehead wrinkles and frown lines.
