From the big screen to Instagram, a gorgeous pout has become a must-have. Luckily, this aesthetic is safe and easy to achieve if you have a provider with the right skill and experience.
Lip fillers are one of the most popular injectable treatments, and one of the most injector-dependent when it comes to results. Successful treatment of the lips requires knowledge of, and respect for, the anatomy of natural lips, artistic vision, and technical ability.
Prior to the treatment, you will fill out consent forms and have topical numbing cream applied to the treatment area. Laughing gas may also be offered. The skin will be cleansed, cooled with gel ice packs, and prepped for injection.
Dr. Anita will then apply injections in precise amounts and locations to achieve treatment goals. Pre- and post- treatment photos are taken to highlight results.
Please Note: These are general estimates that may or may not apply to you individually.
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, cash, and cashier checks. We also work with two third-party financing companies Care Credit and Alphaeon Credit. You can find more information and apply for credit online using the links below.
During your consultation, Dr. Anita will take time to learn about your concerns and lip goals, create a custom treatment plan, and discuss the treatment in detail. She will go through your medical history and make sure you are a good candidate for treatment.
The treatment begins with an assessment and custom plan. Topical numbing is applied, the treatment area is cleansed, iced, and then the treatment begins. The injections themselves take less than 15 minutes. If laughing gas is desired, this is taken just before injections begin, and as needed during treatment. Pre- and post- treatment photos are taken.
Post-injection instructions and precautions are provided, and a 2-week follow-up visit is scheduled for overall assessment and touch-up if advised.
Lip fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occuring substance in the tissues. There are different formulations available, and each one has specific unique qualities that make it best suited for achieving specific results.
Depending on how, where, and how much filler is placed, lip injections can create shape and definition, provide fullness, and enhance lip beauty and proportions. Done poorly, lip injections can distort natural anatomy and create disharmony between the facial features.
Lip fillers commonly used at present are not permanent, and can be dissolved if desired.
Lip fillers typically last 6-12 months, depending on product chosen and individual rate of metabolism.
Over time, the body metabolizes the product. If too much is injected at once, there can be spread of product to adjacent tissues, producing a thickened upper lip appearance, for example.
Lip fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which is naturally produced in the body. Because of this, lip fillers are generally safe. The main risks are related to the injection itself, rather than the filler product.
Current day fillers are mainly hyaluronic acid based, and not derived from animals or animal products.
The lips are a fairly sensitive area. Topical numbing makes the procedure more comfortable, as does icing the surface before injection. Laughing gas is also an option to help alleviate pain and anxiety.
